Vaccinations

If possible, please make sure your pet has been fully vaccinated from infectious diseases before bringing them for surgery. This includes distemper, parvo, and kennel cough in dogs and distemper, rhinotracheitis, and calicivirus in cats. Vaccinations are less likely to cause an adverse reaction if they are not all given together at the same time. Please consult your regular veterinarian for further information.

If you do not have a regular veterinarian and your pet is not current on these vaccinations we can provide them at the time of surgery.

*A Rabies vaccine and a distemper vaccine is required to be already up to date or brought up to date the day your pet visits our clinic.

Florida state law requires a current rabies vaccination for your pet. Please bring proof in the form of a rabies certificate (tags are not acceptable forms of proof).

Withdraw Food After Midnight

Do not feed your pet anything after midnight the night before surgery unless it is under 4 months of age. If your pet is younger than 4 months of age, make sure you feed it two hours before you bring it to the clinic.

All pets should be allowed access to water until 6 a.m. the day of surgery.

Please Fill Out Paperwork Prior to Bringing Pet Inside

Please come inside and complete check-in before bringing your pet inside. Once we have your paperwork, and we have spoken to you about your animal's health, you will be asked to bring them in. Do not hesitate to ask for help if needed. ALL DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH AND ALL CATS MUST BE IN A CARRIER. If you do not have a carrier for your cat, we can loan you one of ours to bring your cat inside and for the day. Please do not carry your cat inside without a carrier.  Even normally calm cats can become frightened and either escape or bite and scratch the person carrying them. We are located right off US1 and we have these requirements to ensure all pets and their owners safety.

Check-In Time is at 8 a.m.

We do our best to get everyone in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible but please note the admission process can take up to ~1hr to complete. We do not rush this process to ensure everything is properly noted for your pet receiving surgery that day. If you wish, you may collect the paperwork before your appointment day to save time.

Check-Out Time is at 5 p.m.

We do our best to get everyone in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible but please note the discharge process can take up to ~1hr to complete. We do not rush this process to ensure your pet is awake and ready to safely go home and all questions you may have get answered. Everyone picking up their pet will also go home with an invoice for procedures performed that day and aftercare instructions attached.
